SurgiQuality was founded by a practicing surgeon and ASC operator who spent 33 years watching the same operational and information problems repeat themselves — for patients trying to choose, for surgeons doing good work that went unseen, and for the institutions and payers trying to make sense of both.
The team built around that mission brings deep experience across surgical operations, health-benefits strategy, healthcare data, and physician leadership. People who have been on the receiving end of the problem we’re solving.

Sanjay Prasad, MD FACS
Founder & CEO · Chairman of the Board
Born in New Delhi, India; immigrated to the United States in 1962 at the age of one. His family traveled on a month-long journey by ship to the US in search of a surgical specialist for a member of the family — a search for healthcare excellence that became the founding ethos of SurgiQuality. 33 years of solo surgical practice as a board-certified neurotologist and cranial-base surgeon. Founded SurgiQuality after watching the same surgical-quality information gaps repeat themselves across patients, surgeons, employers, and payers for three decades. Author of Resetting Healthcare. Also operates an Ambulatory Surgery Center — direct first-hand experience with the facility-side problems SurgiQuality is built to solve.
Tonya Hughes
VP Client Relations
Leads surgeon outreach, network development, and client relationship management across SurgiQuality’s surgeon channel. Brings deep experience in healthcare relationship management to the work of building the surgeon network and supporting participating surgeons through onboarding and beyond.
Marshall Besch

Over 30 years of healthcare experience spanning delivery, administration, quality improvement, and financial management. Specializes in operational excellence and fostering patient-centric care. Leads SurgiQuality’s data operations — the infrastructure that turns surgeon-side EMR data into the risk-adjusted outcomes scoring that powers the platform.
